Call for Papers Presentation
Monday July 22, 2024
SEALS hosts an annual call for papers competition that solicits entries from scholars with varying degrees of experience in the academy and a wide range of subject matter interests. The winner is recognized in the SEALS program and invited to present their work to a group of like-minded scholars at a Call for Papers luncheon. This year’s winner, Professor Jane Bambauer, is the Brechner Eminent Scholar at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Her
outstanding paper, How to Get the Property Out of Privacy Law, draws on law and economics principles to argue that data privacy law fits better within a risk management model than a traditional property model. Professor Bambauer’s presentation led to a robust discussion of her conclusions, and an exploration of additional issues raised by her work.
