I regret to inform you that SEALS is now on a waiting list for rooms for the upcoming meeting. The good news is that Boca Resort has been very accommodating, and has allowed us to exceed our room block. For some of our meeting days, they have allowed us to substantially exceed our room block. So, at the moment, we have reservations for hundreds of rooms more than we contracted for. Nevertheless, we still have a significant number of attendees on the waiting list. For those on the waiting list, we HOPE that rooms will open up around June 15th.
CAVEAT FOR THOSE WHO ARE HOLDING ROOMS: Please be aware that, as in prior years, there is a “penalty date.” After June 15th, if you cancel your reservation, or reduce the length of your stay, there will be a charge of at least one night’s lodging (there will be a two night charge if you cancel more than a single night). So, PLEASE, review your room registration and release any unneeded room nights. Not only will you avoid having to pay penalties, but you will enable someone else to move off the waiting list into a room reservation. If you cancel after June 15th, it’s a lose-lose situation: you may have to pay a penalty, and we may not be able to reassign the room to someone on the waiting list. So, please, act now if you need to alter your reservation.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to make this year’s meeting a success.
