Board of Trustees

Board of Trustees

SEALS 2013 election. The Steering Committee will elect three board members and vote on proposed governance changes at the 2013 Annual Meeting. One rule applies to all positions: two faculty members from the same school cannot serve on the board simultaneously. The three positions appear below.

(1) Vice President/President Elect to serve in that position during 2013-14, serve as President in 2014-15, and serve as Past President in 2015-16. This individual must be a faculty member (including emeritus) at a member school located in Florida.

(2) Secretary/Corporate Compliance Officer to serve in that position during 2013-2018.

(3)At-Large Board member to serve from 2013 through the 2016 meeting

Officers other than the President are eligible to run for re-election. At-Large Board members who serve three year terms are ineligible to run for re-election but are eligible to run for other positions.

The terms of six board members do not end in 2013: Jonathan Cardi (Wake Forest University); David Millon (Washington and Lee University); Lia Epperson (American University); Steven Kaminshine (Georgia State University); David Partlett (Emory University); and Russell Weaver (University of Louisville).

Submit nominations to Gail Richmond at richmondg@nsu.law.nova.edu. Faculty members can nominate themselves or another person; if you nominate someone else, please cc him/her so that Gail knows you have ascertained the nominee’s willingness to serve. (If you do not receive an acknowledgement of your email making a nomination, please re-send.)

Nominations close on July 21, 2013.

The steering committee will also vote on proposed amendments to the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws. The proposed changes (which include the status of the Deputy Corporate Compliance Officer and the Deputy Executive Director in addition to procedural matters) will be posted separately in April 2013.
